Repair a damaged PDF
Recover a PDF that will not open — and get back every page that can still be read.
Repair a damaged PDF online, free
A PDF that refuses to open, opens with an error or shows blank pages has usually lost its internal index — the table that tells a reader where each page and font is stored. It happens with an interrupted download, an attachment damaged by an e-mail system, or a program that saved the file badly. PDF Vision repairs it in two steps. First it rebuilds that index by reading the file from end to end, without touching the content: text, fonts, form fields and links stay as they are. If that is not enough, the document is rewritten page by page from whatever can still be read — the pages come back, interactive form fields and signatures do not. A repair can only recover what is in the file: when part of the content was never downloaded, the pages it held cannot be rebuilt, and when nothing readable remains we tell you so instead of handing back blank pages. Repair runs on PDF Vision's servers, files up to 15 MB, first repair of the day free without an account.

The file’s index is rebuilt; if needed, the document is rewritten from every readable page.

Check the preview and save it. Your first repair of the day needs no account.
Why use it
Content untouched first
The first pass only rebuilds the file’s structure: text, fonts and forms are kept exactly.
A second chance
When the structure is beyond repair, every readable page is recovered into a new file.
An honest answer
If nothing can be recovered, you are told — no blank pages passed off as a repair.
