Convert a PDF to HTML online, free

A PDF fixes every line at a position on a page, which is why it is so tiring to read on a phone: you zoom, you scroll sideways, you lose your place. PDF to HTML rebuilds the document as a web page instead. Headings become headings, paragraphs are rejoined across line breaks, columns and page breaks, words split by a hyphen at the end of a line are put back together, bulleted and numbered lists become lists, aligned columns become tables, and links stay clickable. Running headers and page numbers are removed, images are kept, and charts drawn as vectors are rendered as sharp images. The result is a single .html file with its pictures inside, ready to publish, to paste into a CMS or to read anywhere. Everything happens in your browser: the PDF is never uploaded. A scanned PDF has no text to rebuild — run it through OCR first. Mathematical formulas come out as plain text, and a magazine-style layout may need a few touch-ups. Why use it

Reads on any screen

The text reflows to the width of a phone, a tablet or a desktop — no zooming, no sideways scrolling.

Structure, not soup

Two columns are read in order, sentences cut by a page break are rejoined, tables keep their rows and columns.

Nothing is uploaded

Conversion runs on your device; the file never leaves it.

Frequently asked questions

Does the HTML look exactly like the PDF?
No, and that is the point: the page is rebuilt to reflow on any screen, with clean web typography. The content and its structure are kept; the exact position of every line is not.
What happens to images and charts?
Pictures are kept and embedded in the HTML file. Charts and diagrams drawn as vectors are rendered as high-resolution images, with their caption.
Are tables kept?
Yes, when their columns are aligned: they become real HTML tables, header row included. A table without visible alignment stays as paragraphs.
Can I convert a scanned PDF?
A scan contains pictures of pages, not text, so there is nothing to rebuild. Run it through OCR first, then convert the result.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and converted entirely in your browser.
Do I need an account?
One free document a day without an account.
